Obesity

Obesity can co-exist with endocrine diseases, especially in patients with short stature or with slowing down the rate of growth, e.g. hypothyroidism, Cushing's disease, growth deficiency, and Ca-P disorders. It can also be associated with genetically determined syndromes. The beginning of changes and their dynamism is also important in diagnostics.
Consequences of obesity are : carbohydrate metabolism, leading at a later age to type 2 diabetes, hypertension, metabolic syndrome and many others.
Consultation of an endocrinologist is an important strategy for action in this disorder.
